About Tips for Gaining Weight

Most of the internet is built for people trying to lose weight. This site is for the rest of us.

Who's behind this

Tips for Gaining Weight is written by Pete Sullivan, who spent years as the skinny one: the fast metabolism, the "just eat more" advice that never worked, the plates that felt impossible to finish. What finally worked wasn't a miracle product. It was understanding the actual math of a calorie surplus, making calories easier to eat, and training in a way that turned those calories into muscle.

To be clear about credentials: Pete Sullivan is not a doctor or a registered dietitian, and this site never pretends otherwise. What you get here is careful research, honestly cited. Every health claim links to peer-reviewed studies or recognized health organizations, and where the evidence is thin, we say so plainly.

Our editorial standards

  • Every article cites its sources. You can check our work at the bottom of every page.
  • Every article is reviewed and approved by a human editor before it publishes.
  • We never give advice about medical conditions, medications, or eating disorders. Those belong with professionals, and our content says so.
  • Product recommendations are chosen on evidence first; affiliate relationships never decide what we recommend, and paid links are always labeled. See our affiliate disclosure.
  • When a homemade or free alternative beats a product, we lead with it.

What this site is not

It is not medical advice, and it is no substitute for your doctor, especially for teenagers (our teen content is written for parents), adults over 65, and anyone managing a health condition. Read our full medical disclaimer. If you're losing weight without trying, that's a question for a doctor before it's a question for any website.
